Wellness is a condition that you actively try to achieve by making choices about what activities, behaviors, and lifestyles lead toward an optimal state. The pursuit of wellness goes beyond physical health because it also includes many other dimensions including the social/cultural environment in which we live – so self-responsibility for our own choice but influences greatly influenced too!

Wellness is often confused with terms such as health, wellbeing, and happiness. While there are common elements among them, wellness is separated by not pointing to a static state of being (being happy, in good health, or a form of wellbeing). Instead, wellness is associated with an active process of being aware and making choices that lead to optimal holistic health and wellbeing.

 

Dimensions of wellbeing.

Wellness is about more than just physical health. wellness includes six Aspects of Personal health.

  1. Physical: A healthy body through exercise, nutrition, sleep. Exercise! Even walking 30 minutes a day three times a week will significantly improve your health. Eat Healthily. Avoid fried foods, soft drinks, processed meats, and sweets. Try to include five servings of fruits and vegetables in your diet every day. Don’t skip meals. Significantly, doing so slows down your metabolic rate and can cause weight gain. Avoid heavy episodic drinking and drug use. No more than five drinks in one sitting for men and four for women. Don’t play drinking games and space drinks over time, alternating with a glass of water. Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep every night.
  2. Mental: Engagement with the world through learning, problem-solving, creativity.
  3. Emotional: Being in touch with, aware of, accepting of, and able to express one’s feelings (and those of others). Try to maintain a positive attitude even when problems arise. Discover your stress reliever. Manage your time wisely because it will help lower stress. Find someone that you trust with whom you can openly share your feelings. Smile even when you don’t feel like it.
  4. Spiritual: Search for meaning and purpose of life. For example, Find a quiet place and spend time there every day. Spend time appreciating the natural world around you.
  5. Social: Connecting with, interacting with, and contributing to other people and our communities. Get involved. There are various clubs and organized on campus; find something that interests you. Know who your best friends are. Recognize when you are in an unhealthy relationship. Balance your social life with your academic responsibility.
  6. Environmental: A healthy physical environment free of hazards; awareness of our role in bettering rather than denigrating the natural environment.
